My Students

My school is a majority-minority school with a high population of African American and LatinX students. We are in an urban public school in North Carolina. The focus of the school is Career and Technical Education (CTE). This means students have additional choices on courses that focus on manufacturing, public safety, foods, and nursing.

In my class, students regularly enjoy learning opportunities that are hands-on, minds-on, and relevant to the real-world..

The labs and activity incorporate real-world scenarios. This approach helps them to understand situations they may have encountered in the world. Also, we focus on issues that connect our classroom to global and cultural issues. This includes, but not limited to, social justice issues in mining to the global water crisis. Learning has meaning to them.

My Project

There are two primary types of products we are asking for our students. The first type of product is to help students meet their food insecurity needs. Students are able to grab snacks during class or lunch as well as take a few items home for dinner. The second type of product is for basic hygiene. Students will be able to get deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, and feminine hygiene products.

The materials will be used to provide security for my students.

Because of the number of materials requested, we will need to purchase a cabinet to keep them organized and stored safely. Thank you for your consideration.
