This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every morning we start the day with a chant: "All set?," Teacher says. Students reply, "You bet!" My students are hard workers and are motivated to reach their goals!
I teach in a primarily immigrant and working class neighborhood in Los Angeles.
My students come from supportive families who are involved and concerned. Some of my students are above grade level, some are on grade level, and some are struggling readers. Even with all this diversity, my second graders have one thing in common: they all love learning!
My Project
My second grade students are very active learners. They are constantly moving throughout the day. Sometimes they are working on the rug, and other times they are working with a partner or in groups.
It is very important for my class to be able to move around the classroom and work with many different students.
Because of this constant movement I have requested Flexi-Felttm Silence Sliders to lower the classroom noise level. I also added red pocket folders, so my students can keep all their papers organized.
In addition, I have requested blue gaffers tape to be used to repair books in my classroom library. My students are able to check out books daily from their own classroom.
