My students are incredible, and as first graders, they are just learning to manage themselves and are continuously building their focus and stress relief tool boxes.
With these flexible seating choices and stress/anxiety relief fidgets, my students will be able to explore which tools and strategies will help them focus and do their best work.
Having the option of choosing their seat, or a chair modification, will help the students move their wiggly bodies, while still paying attention to instruction and directions. Also, being able to choose a fidget to have with them throughout the day will help decrease distractions and off task behavior and encourage students to work hard and do their best listening.
I want to give my students a say in their learning by offering them a fidget to help keep their bodies busy while their minds grow. All of my items will be included in a "Busy Box" that the students can choose from and keep at their desks throughout the day.
