My Students
We are a public high school with a diverse student body that is growing with each school year. Our students are 9th through 12th grade (ages 14 to 18). We have over 3,000 students, including kids with special needs as well as mentally and physically challenged students. This is the only high school in our town, and we offer a full range of classes and electives. In order to maintain a rich of curriculum with authentic materials for our students, we seek donations from DonorsChoose to help supplement our resources.
My Project
With these ceramic glazes, I can stretch our art class funds further, making sure that all students have access to quality art materials, as well as a rich and diverse range of projects and lessons. The glazes that I am requesting will allow me to teach my students about color theory, which is one of our state standards for Art Education. They will learn to mix colors and apply them to the surface of ceramic projects, as well as learning a variety of painting techniques and surface treatments. These glazes will give my students' work an authentic finished look and it will allow students to learn more ceramic working techniques.
