Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our Epson projector is one of the most essential learning tools we have. We used to use it daily! We need a replacement bulb to bring it back to life.
I teach a diverse group of students with cultural roots all over the world.
Ten of my students are English learners. Many of my students come from working class families. My students' families are highly interested and involved in their children's educations. As a school community; however, we need assistance to obtain materials, to enrich student learning.
My Project
The bulb on our Epson projector has burned out, leaving us in the dark. When it was functioning, my students and I used our classroom projector everyday. I used it to project directions, to model note-taking, to show educational videos, and in numerous other ways that enriched my students' learning. My students used it to share presentations and to explain their math problem-solving strategies.
More than any other tool in my classroom, our Epson projector is a tool for universal access.
In a classroom with 24 students, seeing is essential for learning. A replacement bulb for our projector will insure that my students can see any material that I or their classmates present.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
