My Project

Research has shown that having plants in your home or classroom can be a source of pleasure. Indoor gardening relieves stress, boosts creativity, productivity, focus, and promotes trauma recovery. Gardening requires teamwork, patience, and perseverance.

Caring for a living thing, watching it grow and thrive gives a unique opportunity for students to find respect, pride, and commitment to a long term project that shows results.

Although these skills are rarely tested, or recorded, these are lessons that will stick with students throughout their lifetime. Studies show that sharing living or working space with living, “breathing” plant life can make your environment a happier, healthier place to be. I hope that taking care of these air plants can be a source of stress release and joy for my students.

I chose easy to care for air plants and also an indoor plant that will promote air quality in a small space. Please help me bring this project to life with live plants and containers to put them in around our classroom.
