A Breath of Fresh Air

Help me give my students a welcoming space where they can soak up the sun and breathe in the fresh air. This will be an alternative space to the crowded cafeteria that creates anxiousness in many students.

My Project

It’s no secret that our students and faculty are riddled with depression and anxiety since our return from covid related shutdowns and remote learning, along with countless other reasons for increased stress. Here at South High, we are blessed with a wonderful student body, faculty, and brand new school. However, our cafeteria can be a loud, anxiety-inducing environment. We’ve established the need for a peaceful environment where students can practice peace and self-care. This outdoor space will have several picnic tables with umbrellas, and peaceful activities for all. Through the generosity of Donors Choose we are hopeful we can provide picnic tables and outdoor games for our students.
