I have the privilege of looping up to 5th grade with the wonderful 4th graders I taught last year! We had a great time teaching and learning together last year, and I can't wait to spend another year with them, as they continue to build on to their science knowledge.
This is my first year teaching 5th grade science, and that means all new standards for me to teach, and obviously for my students to learn!
I always strive to incorporate ELA into my science lessons as much as possible, and I've had a science library in my classroom every year. I use many of the books to supplement my lessons, and we also love to use the books as an early finisher option or extra credit!
I've amassed quite the collection of non-fiction, age-appropriate science texts over my 7 years of teaching, but now only a handful of them apply to the standards I'll be teaching this year. With that being said, I'm doing a complete overhaul of my library and will be giving away the majority of my current books to the new 4th grade science teacher. I'd love to be able to replace the books I'll give away with brand new ones for my students to enjoy and learn from! Thank you in advance for your help in this endeavor!
