it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My students are a resilient group of young people. They are strong advocates and facilitators of their learning. Together, we are cultivating an equitable learning environment where everyone is a teacher and everyone is a learner.

My Project
Love of Reading Week is a week of promoting the love for reading throughout our school and classroom. This event happens on the week of Valentines Day. This year, I would like to surprise each of my 135 students with their own book to take home and keep. I have selected books that are culturally responsive, written by BIPOC, and loved by many! I believe that a love for reading is born when books are made accessible to our youth. Which is why i believe strongly in this project. With this project, I will be able to gift each student 1 book in a Valentine's day baggie! It will serve as a reminder to students that the community is fully committed to their education and future.
I truly believe in the power of books and the power of love.
Sharing the love for books with our youth can transform their hearts, their minds, and our world.
