This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The Outsiders novel unit is an amazing opportunity for students to dig deep into Social Issues while emphasizing particular literacy skills such as theme, symbolism, character development, and relationships. The unit is shared as a read-aloud. The problem is, we do not have copies for the students to follow along.
Having access to their own books will allow students the ability to follow along, forming better connections while creating claims and providing evidence.
The Outsiders is a very popular book and will allow students to better focus and understand during the read aloud.
