This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school strives to find the leader in all students. Every child has capabilities, talents, and strengths; sometimes, all it takes is exposure or motivation. The students in my class strive for excellence. They all inherently care about one another and continually make an effort to improve in all aspects.
My class consists of 29 amazing students.
Of those 29, half are Title 1 students and English language learners, one receives resource services. They all have a think win-win attitude and do their personal best to contribute to our classroom community.
My Project
With these books we will continue to enhance the literature in our classroom that I strive to create every year. This project will help me create a print-rich environment for my eager learners where they will have access to amazing books in Spanish. This project can help me provide enough books for each student to use daily and take home. Every book that is placed in our library is handled with extreme care and respect. Whole class reading is a must for my students we collaborate and love to read in Spanish.
As a Title I school, my Spanish library needs to continue to grow.
My students love reading on the carpet with me, reading with a buddy, and reading independently. This project can help me provide enough books for each student to use daily. Every book that is placed in our library is handled with extreme care and respect. The students are so grateful for the few books we already have.
With these new books, we can do our read aloud together and at the same time model a love for literature. My students are eager to get these books in their hands. I want my kiddos to be as excited as I am when I pick up a new book! The best way to foster a love for reading is to provide my students with access to amazing books in our classroom. These books will continue to help my students grow and learn. I am so inspired by my students' eagerness to learn, help them give them the materials they need to grow as readers.
