My Project
Help me give my class the experience of reading together "A Song of a Whale" by providing a classroom set of books. As a new teacher, I am lacking this wonderful tale, and this set will help me stay in step with the rest of my current team of teachers.
Song for a Whale, by Lynne Kelly, is a captivating novel that tells the story of a young girl named Iris who is deaf and her connection to a whale who cannot communicate with other whales due to a unique song.
The story explores themes of empathy, communication, and understanding, making it a perfect choice for a fourth-grade classroom.
In the context of a classroom library, "A Song of a Whale” can serve as a tool for engaging students with the natural world and the concept of waves in science, while also fostering a love for storytelling and communication. A classroom library can be enriched with books like this, encouraging students to explore themes of connection, nature, and the science behind waves. The story offers a way to connect different subjects—literature, science, and emotional expression—making it a valuable addition to any educational setting.
Thank you for donating to my classroom library to give my students a chance to experience this wonderful story.
