My Students
My students are 21st century learners who are eager to use all of the technology available to them! I teach 30 curious fourth grade scientists in a small, Title I school that has an amazing and supportive principal.
My students are eager to learn and their brains are sponges that absorb any and all information given to them.
Everything is a potential investigation or experiment to them, so I strive to provide my students with as many learning and project-based opportunities as possible. I constantly enhance the school curriculum and students' intrinsic motivation to learn more by infusing STEM correlations whenever possible.
Because of our small school size, funding levels are not as high as other schools in our area. Grants and projects like this one become an integral part of how I obtain resources to supplement learning experiences. I truly believe that the future lies in our children. They have virtually unlimited potential, and my job is to enable them to reach it.
My Project
My students are a wonderful bunch of kids! They are curious, playful, and help each other every day. We often read books that talk about character traits and how each of them is unique and special. The book "Only One You" requested in this project does a great job of teaching that concept.
We need a class set of this wonderful title!
After we read this book, each child will decorate a rock showing their uniqueness. We will then display them in our learning garden for the whole school community to enjoy! This project also is requesting a bookcase that will be the place where we house these books after our project is complete. Thank you in advance for helping me get these resources for my students!
