My students need books by popular authors like Leo Lionni, Eric Carle, and Tad Halls to enhance their curiosity about reading.

My Students

Have you ever seen a child find a book that sparks their imagination while they are playing? Early childhood research shows that strategically placing quality books throughout the classroom enhances a child's learning experience through play.

My class consists of military children from all walks of life.

They love to explore and learn about the world around them. They also love to look at books and model what they see their favorite characters doing in the stories. Some of the children love to pick a book to rest with.

My Project

I have chosen many popular books by Leo Lionni, Eric Carle, and Tad Halls to be placed around the classroom in the various learning centers. I believe that children need easy access to quality books that will feed their curiosity and imagination. My students will be able to choose books that they enjoy to look at and to have read to them. Also, the students that do not nap enjoy resting quietly with a good book.

My project is very important to my classroom because research shows that children with easy access to quality children's literature are more likely to develop a richer vocabulary, enjoy reading, and value books as a necessary resource in the future.
