My Project
Many of the students at our Title 1 school have never owned their own book, or often do not have access to books in their home. It can be very exciting and motivating to students to have their own book, that they get to choose. When students get to choose their own books, they also have a greater opportunity to choose books that reflect their unique identities.
The low readers at our school, in particular, greatly benefit from reading activities that allow them to read exactly what they want, so we would love for each student to be able to pick their own book.
This is a great opportunity to help support and motivate low readers!
