My Students
Exceeding beyond expectations perfectly sums up my students. Every day, students here come to school with challenges far beyond their years, but every single day, they are able to amaze me. Not only do they come to school, they are also in one of the highest achieving districts around, despite being one of the most impoverished districts.
There is nothing I love more than seeing our students achieve despite their circumstances. They work harder, show incredible resourcefulness, and use every advantage they are given to make the best of their circumstances.
My Project
Students love to read, but many of them just don't know it yet. In order to become amazing, enthusiastic readers, kids need a selection of books to choose from. That way they can find what interests them. When they do, their passion for reading grows.
In our low income, rural area, access to books is hard, so our library needs to be brimming with books to interest and engage a variety of readers.
These books will add to our small library and allow students to have a larger selection to be passionate about. Children who can become more proficient readers, will do better in all of their classes, and these books can help reach that goal.
