This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my room are extremely creative. As a group they have continued to overcome extreme life experiences. Despite all the negative things they go through, they demonstrate that they want to improve and be better. No matter how hard their day is, they always come in ready to try their best.

They make me want to do my absolute best everyday.

They come in every day ready with ideas and perspectives that are eye opening, unique, and at times, a bit silly.

My Project

The leveled texts will allow my students to reach for a book that is within their level and motivate them to keep reading. My students love to read independently but lack accessible books that make them feel successful. Having a successful book allows my students to have great conversations with peers about their stories and allows them to explore beyond what they see on a daily basis. The comfortable seats will empower them to make choices as to where they read and own their reading time.
