A Book a Day Keeps Illiteracy Away!
Help me give my students fiction and non-fiction books and magazines to enhance their learning!
My students are 4th grade students that come from low socioeconomic backgrounds! Books would be very beneficial to them. As students that do not have access to books at home, these students need their own books at home in order to develop a love of reading and to reach their full potential! They need books to complete book reports and to be able to apply the reading skills they have learned to comprehend and engage in the text! Books will engage the students in reading and allow them to build background knowledge available at their fingertips, which would otherwise be lost to them. They are already bright but can be so much more!
Books in the hands of my students will not only help them fulfill their full potential, but will help foster a love of reading! They will develop their reading skills in both fiction and non-fiction full color text! This in turn will keep them engaged in reading and help them break the cycle of illiteracy in low socioeconomic areas! They have no other access to books while we are social distancing and they need your help to fulfill their desire to have books in their eager hands! Please help them!
