This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember getting hooked on a series of books as a child? I know I do. Think back to a time you felt excitement and anticipation waiting for the next book to come and then finally reading the prized next installment in your favorite series. I want to share this excitement with my students and bring them the joy of having completed a book series. My students are inquisitive, voracious readers who are craving to discover the newest adventures in their favorite book series.

My Project

My students love to read but sometimes have difficulty getting their hands on the next book within a series. To further their love of reading and increase both interest and stamina, I would love it if they were able to have some of the “up and coming” or “all time favorites” on hand in our classroom library. Percy Jackson and Harry Potter are a few of their favorites. Having classroom sets will also increase our opportunity for book clubs. My project includes books that are on grade-level and some that are above. By selecting the ones that are above grade level I am able to provide rigor to those that want it outside of the classroom.
