Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

What I love most about my students is the ability they have to adapt to any situation. They are filled with wonder and opinions which they don't mind sharing with you. My students are caring and at the same time are not afraid to voice their beliefs.

What makes them special is the light that I see in their eyes once a concept has been grasped or their ability to shine even though their environment may appear to be dim.

Many of my students come from poverty stricken homes, they may not have all that is needed for distance or in person learning.

My Project

These materials will be used in the intervention lab during independent and small group instruction. The materials are specifically ear marked for students to read without frustration in efforts to enhance a love of reading. This will in turn allow the students to become successful readers while promoting a love for literature. Students will read independently as well as in small groups. Students will also increase their fluency levels and enhance their vocabulary skills while reading. This will hopefully open up a world of wonder and creativity among the students.
