This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Save our program! We have 260 students but have undergone a 50% funding cut due to government cut backs. Our students contribute countless hours of community service and patriotic events displaying our nations and military flags.

Our students are dedicated teenagers wanting to belong to something special.

Last year they completed 3,500 volunteer community service hours feeding the homeless, military veteran's and families, etc. They go to hospitals, senior centers also. My school has funding challenges. We have a socioeconomically challenged school culture with 75 percent of all students being on free/reduced lunch. My students are hard workers and desire to look as sharp as possible in his/her military uniforms to positively represent our country and servicemen/women.

My Project

We will be able to use the hats for years for our color guard, honor guard and drill teams. We will put a school logo/crest on the berets. Students post the American, State and Military Service colors at over 30 community functions. This includes at football games and community supporting events. Students can't afford these extra costs as some only eat once a day due to difficult family situations. They learn respect, patriotism, volunteerism, self-confidence and leadership. Our program has a 100 percent success rate for all seniors graduating and going off to college or pursuing military careers.

Funding project allows students to continue to support community and patriotic celebrations at elementary and high schools schools, games, veteran associations, senior homes and funerals.

Our tasking continue to grow and better uniforms will allow us to field more teams for use. These teams are also used to help with program enrollment by incoming freshman. Funding once cut usually will not return in the near future. Your donations will help keep our program FREE to any child!
