My Students

I serve students aged 3-6 years old in their beginning stages of the education environment. My classroom serves students with autism spectrum disorder who need a little more assistance than a "regular" special education classroom.

Each and every one of my students are​ special and amazing!

I strive to do everything I can to help and support them and each of their needs. My classroom may not be the typical type of classroom you'd expect, but we engage the students to help each child grow and learn to love school. We are building the foundation to not only help students academically, but I personally strive to help with being able to self-regulate and learn important social skills.

My Project

Working with young children with autism is my passion! Sometimes, the days can be tricky or hard because of their sensory needs and desire to explore!

Navigating this world and gaining independence is our ultimate goal!

Sometimes this means the kids want to open every cupboard, which is where we would use the locks. Their sensory systems are usually out of wack, so providing different sensory times is a must-do for my students. This includes the pressure vests, disco lights, and swings to help calm or excite them!

I'm always trying to find ways to get to know my children who are pre-verbal and having a variety of sensory materials makes a huge difference for them! The more we can excite and regulate them, the better they'll attend to learning new things!
