A Big Classroom Carpet & Listening Center

My students need a big classroom carpet with individual spaces to help keep us in our own bubble. We also need a sturdy listening center with headphones and a CD player.

My Students

My students are very active learners who like to move and explore their environment. We love to read books and listen to stories, especially ones that makes us laugh!

My kindergarten classroom is very diverse.

We are from a rural area, outside of several small towns. Many of my students are considered "at-risk," meaning they are in greater need of support and interventions. I also have a few students with high needs and several ELL students.

My Project

I have started to teach the Daily Five reading strategies in my classroom. One of the "five" is listening to Reading. I will use the listening center for this rotation. I am very excited to receive headphones, which will fit my students' small heads, and a CD player made to hold up to a kindergarten classroom. We will use the classroom carpet for our morning meeting and direct instruction during math. A big rug with individual spaces on it will help my students with developing their personal space and boundaries.

Your donations will improve my classroom by providing a space for my students sit, to move around, and to help build a community of learners for years to come.
