My Students
Do you remember when you were in Kindergarten and you had to remember 26 letter names and sounds as well as number names and counting? My students are faced with this challenge daily.
"Aloha" from my bright and eager Kindergarteners. Our school is located in a predominantly rural and low-income neighborhood. The majority of my students are of Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander ancestry, although, we do have a diverse population at the school.
My Project
My Kindergarten students will not realize that they are learning while having so much fun playing. They will be learning their letter names, sounds, numbers and counting while playing with magnets, on the computer, and even fishing for letters and numbers! I have requested for a magnetic alphabet fishing game and a number sense magnetic activity board. I am also requesting for several letter and number interactive CD-ROM games like Plinko, Fun Factory, Letter of the Day, and Circle Time.
My students will be actively engaged while learning through their sense of hearing, touching, and seeing. They will be given the opportunity to use technology and learn through play.
