Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Imagine a classroom where students not only create incredible designs but also use those very creations to build stronger social skills. With a 3D printer and different color filament, my students with autism could transform their ideas into tangible, interactive models that enhance both creativity and communication. From printing their own personal creations to crafting manipulatives for social skills lessons, this printer would serve as a bridge between imagination and meaningful social interaction. Its like turning their favorite toy into a conversation starter or using a model to practice empathy, turn-taking, or even just making new friends in a fun, hands-on way.
But this isn't just about cool gadget it’s about building confidence, fostering independence, and making learning more engaging.
With each print, students would not only hone their fine motor skills but also feel a sense of pride as they craft something uniquely theirs. Plus, no more boring worksheets or generic flashcards our students would be the designers of their own educational tools. Its a win-win: the printer would ignite their creativity while also helping them practice social skills in a dynamic and supportive environment. Let’s give my students with special needs the power to create, connect, and share one printed piece at a time!
