Supporting Creativity and Cooperation in the Aerie at Our Library
Help me give my students the supplies they need to explore creativity and cooperation! Middle school is stressful, but in the Aerie, students play games with friends, build creatures with googly eyes, and create their own stickers!

My Project
Students at BMS are so excited about the changes they see in the Aerie! Reading is, of course, the main focus, but they also come in the mornings to visit with friends and get ready for their day. Having a wide variety of activities in which they can participate is a great way to get even reluctant readers into the library.
Our students will enjoy gathering for a little friendly competition with Uno cards, Scrabble, and Guess Who or a gab session over the bracelet-making kits.
Other students will use the Cricut, cardstock, and button supplies to create stickers, bookmarks, cards, and buttons they can use themselves or share with loved ones. Still others might be teaching their friends how to make flowers with chenille stems and pompoms or how to design ornaments with air-dry clay, kraft sticks, and stick on eyes.
The Aerie is a bustling busy place, the center of our learning community. I'm so excited about our students continuing to grow and learn about competition, cooperation, and creativity.
