My Project
After returning to school from the COVID pandemic, students are in more need than ever of outdoor activities. Outdoor activities help promote social emotional learning by allowing students to build relationships with each other, target self-awareness, and target decision making skills. Students are also able to develop friendships and bonding with each other when participating in group activities. Students are re-learning how to playing and participate in activities with their peers again. Getting outside and being active is also an important need for middle school students.
The soccer balls, playground balls, and carnival games will help promote teamwork and physical activity.
Allowing students time to interact with each other outside of academic time targets social emotional learning (SEL) and can build relationships, character, understanding, and grit. Having these items will help promote team bonding during our advisory time every week.
The carnival games will provide end of the year activities for our students. The wagon will help keep all of the materials organized. The snacks will provide hungry students options when they do not have food or money to buy food at school. The vacuum will help keep our flexible seating/carpeted area clean. The extension cords will allow students to charge their Chromebooks from their desk while completing class activities. This will allow students to remain nears their peers and easier to participate with their peers.
