Help me give my students supplies, and tools to get them through the rest of the school year. They have a student section that I would like to keep replenished so that they are well equipped for class!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have a very diverse group of students who have very different reading taste but they all seek and strive to progress every day. They are 7th graders and a lot of changes begin to come about. They are leaving behind their years in elementary and are becoming teenagers. Some problems mean the end of the world while other problems are just another hurtle to jump. They are stuck in the middle and are trying to find a way out.
I enjoy listening to them talk about life outside of class and what motivates them to get up everyday for school.
I have a student that can tell you what kind of car someone has just by listening to the engine. I have a student that loves anime and brings plushies to put on my desk everyday. I have a student that loves sneakers and writes about them for warm-ups!
There are so many things they wish to do and so many things they should be exposed to. I wish to bring more creativity in my classroom and the outside world. I want to give knowledge that is useful, engaging and relatable to these remarkable students!
My Project
I created a student section in the room where the students can grab what ever they need for class and also what they might need for their next class. To avoid printing out so much paper and to engage the students we will be creating foldables and other tools to keep up with notes and other classroom projects. I am also looking to make the classroom more of a relaxing environment for them to learn and work in. The idea is to model the classroom after a coffee house where the environment is usually comforting and a place of learning, progression, and discussion.
