This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The items listed in the project are to provide students necessary equipment for specific units and provide students with a positive atmosphere and rewards. Several of the sports equipment included in this project is directed at ensuring students have a safe and fun way to learn how to play baseball and softball. Much of the equipment available to my class currently is unable to be used due to safety concerns; getting foam bats and balls would allow students to engage in learning one of America's pastimes without their safety being at risk. Using foam bats and balls instead of traditional bats and baseballs prevents students who are beginners from getting hurt playing with students who are advanced. Also included in the baseball equipment included in the project is a strike zone for students to pitch into, which would serve to enhance the students experience of playing and provide a clear visual of the strike zone. Aside from the baseball equipment, the project also includes chain nets for basketball rims and pinnie jerseys. Chain nets were selected for this project because they will last longer and be more durable than traditional nets. Pinnie jerseys were included to make dividing students into teams easier. The last 2 items included in the project are for the enhancement of the student experience of P.E., a bluetooth speaker and otter pops. The bluetooth speaker will be used to play music for students during P.E. class and the otter pops will be used as a reward for students.

Sports equipment and items to enhance the physical education experience of Middle School students are quintessential to providing students a safe and fun environment to learn and enjoy physical education and make memories.
