My Project
Thank you for considering my campaign for clocks to replace the broken ones at our elementary school. The clocks in each classroom and the hallways are all telling different times and cannot be fixed. Some of the clocks are off by hours, some just by a few minutes. I honestly don't know which of those is worse for the kids trying to learn how to tell analog time in our digital world!
The broken clock story is easy to understand.
Our school district purchased a system of clocks that kept them all in sync. The clocks were built to discourage tampering, which is why they cannot be fixed. The system that syncs them requires manpower that is currently outside of the budget. The clocks go out of sync every 2-30 days. With digital alternatives and phones, the day goes on as usual, but the kids are missing a crucial part of their education.
Our school is almost 100 years old and invites over 600 children inside every day for a world class education in the heart of Oklahoma. Analog clocks help us teach so many things! The Every Day Math program, skip counting, feeling how long a minute can be as they count down to recess and so much more! Please help me and my amazing colleges teach time properly.
