We will come together as a staff and learn about 7 Mighty Moves! The impact of these moves will be positively felt across all grade levels. We will dive deeper into understanding how children learn to read and the importance of using explicit, systematic phonics. In addition, teachers will come away with ideas on how they can modify what they are currently doing to transform their reading instruction. Each chapter of this book focuses on a critical area of foundational reading–from the most efficient ways to teach phonemic awareness and phonics to the most effective ways to boost comprehension. We will use various technology tools including videos, Google Slides, Padlet, Jamboard, and FigJam to support our learning and this wonderful resource!
