This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Transmedia is a catch-all artistic category encompassing music and video production and other technology-based media. In 2012, the use of technology and technological skills has reached a pinnacle. My students need access to materials and projects that utilize modern technology.

During teacher release time, I work with a lively bunch of 6th graders who need motivation and inspiration in acquiring real world skills.

They have limited access to technological resources and, for many, a lack of exposure to varied technological resources.

My Project

My students need 2 digital cameras, 2 camera cases, and 2 SD memory cards to make a documentary on school life. With these materials, students will use critical thinking in the filmmaking pre-production stage, teamwork to share ideas and give artistic critique, and organizational techniques to plan out the sequence of events and prepare a realistic timeline for the project.

In the technological age, it is often difficult to keep up with changing technical devices and terms, let alone have access to current equipment.

With the help of generous donors, my 6th grade transmedia team will have access to technological devices and utilize communication skills that prepare them for jobs in the 21st century.
