My students need flexible seating options to maximize their attention and learning! These items would assist in focus within the classroom and would allow students to move around the room while instruction is in place.
Students taught in my room receive instruction from myself (a special education teacher) and a regular education teacher. Together we teach a group of students with varying learning needs. Student needs may require that the same lesson, topic, or idea be presented in a variety of ways to ensure understanding of all learners. Students come from over a dozen districts in the county to attend our wonderful school.
Many students that I have the pleasure of working with have needs that impact their learning in some fashion.
These students require lessons to be presented in a variety of ways and greatly benefit from options to move throughout their day. Students in my, co-taught, classroom would greatly benefit from flexible seating options.
My Project
Having options for flexible seating within the classroom will give options to students to move around the classroom, sit where they are comfortable, and maximize their focus! I am requesting stools, an inflatable chair, and rocking chairs for the classroom. Students enjoy moving around the room and these items would allow them this option without having to sit on the floor! The stools and rocking chairs would be a great option for students to stay at their desk - but not have to sit in the traditional chair. These items would allow students to stay in their place and complete their assignments but would be a more comfortable option.
These items will offer a comfortable and relaxing seat for students to sit in while learning.
These seating options will allow movement during classes and will give movement breaks to those who need them. These resources will allow students to move around the classroom to a place where they are most comfortable to maximize their attention during the lesson as well as the movement that they crave. Flexible seating options will increase focus which will then increase the level of success my students are able to reach!
Students that I work with have learning, social, and behavioral needs. These students need to have options within the classroom to maximize their learning. They need to be able! These seating options will allow students to move around the room and improve their focus, attention, and success!
