My Project

This year, my class is diving deep into the history of ancient Rome, and I am thrilled to enhance their learning experience by connecting it to one of my and my daughters' favorite contemporary works: Percy Jackson and The Olympians: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. As you may know, The Lightning Thief introduces readers to Greek mythology through the adventures of Percy Jackson, and this presents a perfect opportunity for us to explore the ancient world of Rome and its mythology through a modern lens.

By aligning their study of Roman history with Percy Jackson's journey, students will gain a more engaging, relatable understanding of Roman culture, the gods, and key historical events.

Through this connection, we aim to create a dynamic, interactive learning environment where students not only study the past but also see how its influence still permeates our world today.

However, to bring this vision to life, we need your support. Your generous donation would allow us to expand on this learning journey by providing a classroom set of Percy Jackson and The Olympians book. These books will give each student a chance to engage with the text, sparking their curiosity about mythology while complementing their history curriculum.
