This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students also come from low income families and need some help growing their love of reading! I'm a first year teacher so my class library is lacking. My students would love something new to read since they've 'torn' through my small collection already! I'd also love to get some class sets that go along with curriculum. Having a physical book to hold increases engagement thus increasing their opportunities to learn. Help me inspire a love of reading in our classroom.
My Project
I'm a first year teacher teaching a class of about 20 that come from low in come households. The only chance a lot of them have to read a book is at school through our library. I want to give them another opportunity to explore the joy of reading in our classroom. I will also use some of these books to supplement the curriculum I'm teaching. My library is quite sparse at the moment. This donation will really give me a great jump on building a diverse and intriguing selection for my class now, and many to come. We would all greatly appreciate this donation!
