This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work in a low income area in NY. and my school has a very limited budget. I am not able to receive the funding in my program necessary for my student's needs. I work with elementary children so my job is to help build the foundation they need to be confident in their physical abilities. Unfortunately, my students only receive P.E. once a week so I want to make sure that they are getting the best quality program possible in the time that they have.
I am lacking key fitness and sport items for the kind of program that my students need and deserve. I would like to start a soccer unit this year but need soccer balls. My students enjoy physical education very much but having very limited equipment makes a very limited program. With your help I can expand my Physical Education program and provide my students with lifetime movement learning.
My students love and need to move around. I would like to provide many opportunities for movement in a developmentally appropriate and safe manner.
The soccer balls would help my 600+ students gain and develop soccer skills. This sport is great for cardio respiratory fitness, gross motor skills and lifelong fitness.
The jump ropes would help my student’s acquire skills that would enhance their health inside my program and outside as well.
The foam balls will help my student’s acquire catching and throwing skills that will also benefit their movement inside and outside the physical education class.
Your help will make it possible for my 600+ students this year and countless more in the future to gain gross motor skills that they can use for a lifetime of enjoyable fitness!
