Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are eager to experience what it feels like to be an artist, a maker, and a creator. They are full of dreams and ideas for themselves and want to express their uniqueness in the work they do. My students are open to new experiences and aren’t afraid to take creative risks. The only thing that is holding them back is the lack of resources and supplies necessary to make their passions come to life. Our school is located in the bustling city of Los Angeles. We are surrounded by so much energy, culture, and languages. We are a community that fosters healthy relationships and we strive to support each other as a family would.
I am requesting 5”x7” frames to display drawings and paintings from students ranging from all grade levels 9-12.
The frames will be displayed in a thoughtful way throughout the classroom and in the school’s hallway. Students will get an opportunity to select an art topic of their choice and will create an artwork made to fit these specific frames.
