I teach an amazing group of 5th graders who are curious, creative, and eager to learn.

Our classroom is a place where students are encouraged to think critically, solve problems collaboratively, and express their ideas in multiple ways. Many of my students thrive when they can share their thinking visually and physically, and having the right tools makes all the difference.

My Project:

I am requesting a classroom set of individual dry-erase whiteboards, markers, and erasers for my 30 students. These simple tools are powerful resources that support student engagement, participation, and formative assessment in every subject we teach.

With whiteboards, students can quickly show their thinking in math, jot down ideas in reading discussions, practice grammar skills, or brainstorm for science investigations. They make learning interactive, immediate, and fun — while allowing me to quickly check for understanding and adjust instruction in the moment.

The Impact:

Providing each student with their own whiteboard will increase participation and confidence, especially for students who may be hesitant to speak up in front of the class. It also supports quick, low-pressure practice and makes review games and collaborative activities more engaging. These tools will be used daily and will serve multiple groups of students for years to come.
