Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This year is an exciting year for our school. It is our second year open and we are ready to see our students blossom from all of the innovation and experiences they have had at our school. We have a mixed population at our campus. We have students from upper-income, lower-income, foster families, military families, English and Spanish speaking families, too. Our students are very motivated to excel in their academics and participate in any and all after-school programs. We have been lacking funding to provide necessary interventions and tutorial materials. As we begin our second year, we would love to provide students of all abilities, the opportunity to continue to grow in their educational journey.
My Project
This reading comprehension program will help our students grow in the areas of comprehension. We hope that by exposing them to different reading materials, they will continue to be veracious readers and realize that reading tests are not too scary. By helping our students become better readers, we are helping them reach success in all subjects areas. Right now we lack sufficient funds to support our students in reading and by adding more resources to our school, we can help them. By providing the funds for this project, you will be changing the lives of our struggling readers and instill a love and confidence in them as readers.
