Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Technology has become the driving force for much of our student learning. Students are guided through Reading and Writing workshop utilizing technology in the classroom.

My class responds to reading on a daily basis.

The reading response is a holistic way of thinking about what they are reading. A student response is written in a marble notebook. As the year progresses, the notebook becomes an invaluable tool for immediate feedback and discourse between the student and myself. The pencils and folders are in great need as we do go through quite a few during the school year.

Finally, our class set of headphones needed for student Chromebooks have not been updated in the past 2 and a half years. The headphones have been overused! The class could use a fresh set.

Our Magnet School community consists of students and families from throughout the city of Stamford but the majority of families come from the neighborhood.
