Help me give my students rewards that will motivate students to finish elementary school strong and prepare them for middle school!

My Project

I have had the pleasure of serving 90 5th graders in their 4th and 5th grade years. This group of students have been through a lot: a global pandemic, schools shut down for 2 years, and making up missed learning time. Students have faced housing and food insecurities, loneliness and instability.

And yet, despite all they have faced in their elementary years, I have never met a more thoughtful, kind and empathetic group of young people.

These students have faced every obstacle thrown at them and have come back stronger and better.

These students will be entering middle school at the end of the year. I will be devastated, but they will face a range of all new challenges. Help them to feel prepared by providing rewards and incentives to help them "keep growing" and stay motivated to continue to do well in school, like pots, bulbs and seeds. Keep them growing along the way with warm gloves and snacks. Keep them reading with high interest texts.

In an area where students don't have every material need met, help kiddos with some little extra luxuries at this exciting but uncertain time in their life.
