This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

So many children believe that because they are young, they are not artists. We are trying to change this mentality by providing the students with quality art supplies they can use to develop their natural artistic abilities.

Our school is classified as a Title 1 school.

Because of this status, we are not able to get much monetary support from our students. These students, however, are as deserving as their better-off counter parts. Our hope is to provide them with the most modern and up-to-date materials which will create an enriching experience and perhaps spark an interest in continuing their art education once they move onto middle school.

My Project

Our students are in need of digital cameras for art class. Being a low income school, most of the students have not even had the chance to hold one of these more common tools. We would love to be able to provide them with cameras so that they keep in touch with photography as another medium in art. Through a photographic medium the students will be able create a still-life scene, capture landscapes, explore nature and document their lives. The control of the camera will make them more confident in their artwork and allow their creativity to flow.

Our students deserve the opportunity to explore the world through photography.

Since they are unable to support themselves it is up to those willing to give to provide them with this opportunity. With this donation our students will become confident artists in their artwork and themselves. Thank you for the opportunity and artistic encouragement you are giving to these students!!
