My Project
My students are passionate readers who thrive when they can fully immerse themselves in rich, meaningful stories. They are thoughtful, inquisitive, and love diving into books that spark discussion and stretch their imaginations. What I love most about them is their eagerness to connect literature to their own lives and the world around them through empathy, curiosity, and critical thinking.
This project is to help us complete class sets of several incredible novels we already use in our classroom: Bud, Not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis, Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin, Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson, and Inkheart by Cornelia Funke.
These books each play an important role in our curriculum, exposing students to diverse voices, genres, and experiences that range from historical fiction and memoir to magical adventure and cultural storytelling. Each title helps build comprehension, vocabulary, and critical analysis skills, while also sparking a love for reading.
Right now, we have incomplete sets, which means not every student can have a copy in hand. Your support will help ensure that each learner can fully participate in reading and engaging in discussion with their own book. These additional copies will make a huge difference in helping us create an inclusive and enriching reading environment where all students can grow and succeed.
