The 5th Grade National Park Ranger Project at WES is one that kids look forward to each year and never forget once they leave us! Through this unique project-based learning experience, all of our students take on the role of a Jr. Park Ranger and Researcher. The specific items I am requesting, like the glue guns and markers, level the playing field of the myriad of socio-economic challenges our students face. A classroom set of headphones allows students the opportunity to listen to calming music or videos while they work! Our National Park Maker-Space provides students with the materials they need to research a national park of their choosing and create a container to honor their parks.
Our requested supplies allow our students to dream big, take artistic risks, and showcase their design-thinking abilities.
This project aims to promote environmental stewardship and excellent public speaking skills. Kids and nature go hand-in-hand! Our immersive National Park Project allows our students to be scientists, artists, critical thinkers, and problem-solvers.
