Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my classroom, my goal is provide more opportunities for hands on learning in Science and Math for students to organically interact with concepts rather than just reading about them. I strive to give students a break from the screen and become familiar with the actual tool they would use like a digital scale, a beaker, etc. We also practice organization of supplies, so that we can take care of the nicer tools that we could use in science.
Scientists and mathematicians learn by doing!
In the same vein, 5th graders learn by getting their hands on a concept and trying it out for themselves! If you donate to this project, you will be helping get some tools into students hands to learn authentically with.
