This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are special because they have the strength to persevere through challenges many adults have not been through, in order to achieve the best education they can. In my classroom I create an environment for growth, self-reflection, and knowing anything is possible.
My students are determined to learn and this will impact our future as a society.
This year my students each have a story, personality, and goals uniquely their own. My job is to support them on their journey to being well, rounded members of society.
My Project
The 50 books on this list will refresh our classroom library. I have 4 purposes for the books in this order. They will provide books for an author study on Tomie dePaola, small sets of graphic novels will be used for independent and small group reading, a set of books about important women will allow us to learn about determination and 7 copies of the book Dora's Eggs will be use for small group instruction.
The arrival of these books will reignite my students interest in reading!
as the cold weather approaches, we will be spending more time inside. My hope is that with these new books the students will choose to spend that time reading.
I make it a personal mission at each student have a favorite book before the end of third grade. I still have a few students who have not found their match. I wonder if someone's future favorite book is part of this order. Will you help me match my students with a new favorite book?
