The students at my school arrive every day ready to learn and to build their futures. They attend a selective enrollment school in inner-city Chicago where 99% of students are of a minority background (95% African American). Facing very difficult economic and racial odds, our students fight for their futures.
When they see the resources available to students at other schools, our students realize they are at a disadvantage but they refuse to let it hold them back.
They fight for their educational rights and opportunities while still enjoying the school experience and participating in well-rounded activities. Our students still find time and energy to be kids while making the best of the situation given to them.
My Project
My AP Physics 1 students have been working hard all year to learn the skills in their college level physics course. They push themselves to master content at a much higher level than their peers, challenging themselves to build a stronger understanding of the world around them and all of its moving parts.
5 Steps to a 5 is one of the best review books around, and will certainly help my students prepare for their AP exam in May.
They will use these books to review content from throughout the year, complete practice problems, and get ready to pass their test!
Without such an awesome resource readily available, review becomes much harder and more tedious, demoralizing and frustrating kids who have already shown resilience by taking an AP science course in the first place. Your assistance with these materials will set them up for smoother review and better exam success.
