My Project
In fourth grade, achievement can be an uphill climb. My students stretch their brains each day as they persevere through challenges and master new learning. Our favorite time of the day is when we can unwind and come together as a group during our class read aloud. Fifteen minutes of pure engagement as students read our favorite novels. Students leave school predicting what will happen in the next chapter. They are going home retelling the stories and begging parents to buy the next book. My students are building fluency, comprehension and vocabulary all while having fun! This is an educators dream!
Our favorite novel study in Mrs. C.'s 4th grade class is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
Students look forward to reading this novel all year long and are so anxious to read the next book after we complete it. I would love to have the opportunity to provide each student with their own copy of the next book, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets! With their new book, students can to continue to read when they are at home and over summer break!
