This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Nestled within the heart of our 4th-grade classroom lies the promise of adventure and imagination, waiting to be unlocked through the power of books. With the support of our generous donors, I am thrilled to embark on a journey to create a captivating reading environment for my exceptional students. At the core of this endeavor is the acquisition of two bookshelves and a cozy reading carpet, transforming a corner of our classroom into a sanctuary of literary exploration and wonder.

These bookshelves and reading carpet will serve as the cornerstone of our reading oasis.

Picture this: students eagerly perched on the plush carpet, lost in the pages of their favorite stories, while the bookshelves proudly display a treasure trove of literary gems, inviting exploration and discovery. This dedicated space will not only foster a love for reading but also cultivate important literacy skills, as my culturally diverse students immerse themselves in a world of words and ideas.

What truly sets my students apart is their remarkable sense of unity and respect, despite their diverse backgrounds. Throughout the school year, they have blossomed into a close-knit community, supporting and learning from one another with unwavering kindness and empathy. With this reading corner, I aim to further nurture their growth and development, providing a safe haven where they can come together to explore, imagine, and grow as lifelong learners.
