Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year will be my second year teaching and my first year teaching 4th grade. I've had the honor to move a grade up alongside my students, letting me continue to be part of their educational journey.

My students were heavily impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic that swept the world and due to online schooling, struggled with building foundational learning skills, predominately, reading skills.

The different books I have listed match the interests of my students. Having looped up with them, I have heard directly from them about what they want to read. I want to continue to build a love of reading within them and encourage their passions. The books will be part of the classroom library where my students will have full access to them. The headphones I have added will also allow for my students to enjoy audio books on their school provided devices. This will especially be a resource my academically lower students can utilize to help encourage reading with them. I know my students will appreciate the materials and it will help mitigate learning loss.
